I’m walking ahead so that you can follow in my footsteps

Keep your heart directed towards me

Keep your eyes on me

As I lead you

For my way is sure

For there are snares along the way

There are brambles along the way

That will try to grab you if you venture

Or even stray slightly to the right or to the left

But keep your feet in my footsteps

For the path is narrow

And the path is not smooth

But I know where to put our feet

So put your feet in my footsteps

And keep your eyes on me

For when the way gets difficult

You must not look to the left or the right

You must not have your eyes focused on what is around you

On what could snare you

On what could stumble you

On what could be a temptation for you to be distracted

Or to go off the path

For even to behold the scenery

But keep your focus on me

As I lead you

For even the slight distraction can slow you down

And you would miss a footstep

A slight distraction could rip your clothing

With the briars on the sides of the path

Or a slight distraction could cause you to stumble on a rock along the path

So keep close

Keep your eyes on me

Keep your focus

So that you will follow closely

For there is a great reward at the end

There is a new season

There is a new destiny

There is a new place for you to be

For you are in transition now

But the time is coming for you to reach that place

In my spirit

In my kingdom

It is ahead

So be not distracted

And do not be slow

But follow closely
